ICAR – Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology (IIAB) has three closely-connected campuses. The main campus is at Garhkhatanga close to the Ranchi Ring Road.

ICAR-IIAB is working with a broader vision of harnessing the potential of plant, animal, fish and microbial biotechnology in an integrated manner to accelerate the pace of agricultural growth. Besides, it is developing excellent human resources by undertaking teaching and training programs at master, doctoral and post-doctoral levels in (1) Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, (2) Biochemistry, and (3) Genetics & Plant Breeding. It is also undertaking all possible measures to empower small and marginal farmers by implementing central schemes of farmers’ welfare.
