Long/short term dissertation training Programme
ICAR-IIAB will be offering a long/short-term dissertation training program for B. Tech (Biotech/Bioinformatics) and M. Sc/M. Tech (Biotechnology/Bioinformatics or Life Science) students from universities having MoU with ICAR-IIAB for academic collaboration. The training aims at providing an opportunity for carrying out research in the areas of Agricultural Biotechnology (Plant, Animal, Fish, Microbes). The institute conducts training program in two batches, one starts in January while the other start in July. The applications received during July-December will be considered for the January batch, whereas applications received during January-June will be considered for the July batch. The selection committee will scrutinize the applications and select the student based on merit and availability of seats at the institute and will be informed accordingly by e-mail.
The selected candidate will have to work on one of the ongoing projects of the center under the supervision of a scientist of ICAR-IIAB. On completion of project work the candidate will be allowed to submit a thesis/report/dissertation to his/her institution with the signature of the scientist of ICAR-IIAB as co-supervisor. A copy of the thesis must be submitted to the Director, ICAR-IIAB and any publication or IPR resulting from the project work will be in the name of IIAB. However, the trainee will get suitable authorship in the publication depending upon the level of his/her contribution.
No accommodation facility will be available at the institute premises, trainees should arrange their own accommodation and transport. The application must be submitted only through online mode. A recommendation letter from the Dean/head of the institution is mandatory for applying to the training program at ICAR-IIAB.
Fess detail:
As per the directive of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) following free structure is followed for imparting training at ICAR-IIAB, Ranchi (ICAR- office order F.No. 2-8/2012-HRD, dated on 25th April, 2014).

As per the ICAR office memorandum (F.No. Agrl Edn. 2(8)/2019-HRD dated on 17th June, 2020) 50% concession is allowed in bench fees charged (by ICAR institute/AUs) from SRF/JRF student outside the National Agricultural Research System (NARS) belonging to EWS, SC, ST, OBC, and Women categories for doing research in ICAR Institutes.
